Things You’ll Need to Make a Show Globe

  • An empty clean jar with a tight-fitting lid
  • A tiny decoration to go inside the globe. Decoration should be waterproof. Small plastic ornaments or toys work well. Or make something from polymer clay.
  • Mineral oil or a mixture of water mixed with a few teaspoons of glycerin
  • White or silver glitter
  • Hot glue gun
  • Sandpaper

How to Make a Snow Globe

  1. Start with selecting decorations that will fit inside the lid of your jar. Also the jar should fit over the decorations.
  2. Sand an area in the center of the lid.
  3. Glue your decorations where you sanded. Use a hot glue gun.
  4. Fill your jar with the water/glycerin mixture also you can use mineral oil
  5. Now you can add glitter
  6. In order for the lid to stay when you seal it, squeeze hot glue around the inside of the lid.
  7. Now the glue needs to dry let it sit around for 30 minutes.
  8. And finally you can watch how the snow falls when you shack it. Have fun!

Making Show Globe Tips

  • Be sure to let the glue dry completely.
  • Put the cap on carefully.
  • Don’t shake the jar violently, shake it gently.

Warnings When Making a Snow Globe

  • Be sure to use parental supervision and permission before and while creating your snow globe.
  • Do not get any glitter/confetti/baby oil in your eyes!
  • Have an adult on hand to do the gluing with the hot glue gun.
  • Keep children away from the hot glue gun.
